When we opened in 2014, we didn’t just open a store — we introduced an entirely new category to Detroit Lakes. Masterpiece Alternatives was the first alternative wellness store in the city, and one of only a handful in all of Minnesota at the time.

What followed was a decade of firsts in Detroit Lakes. Vapor, kratom and kava in 2014. CBD in 2015. Functional mushrooms in 2016. Hemp-derived THC in 2018. Kanna in 2021. Blue lotus in 2022. Seven categories. Every one of them introduced to Detroit Lakes by us first.
